What kind of bit do you use for barrel racing.?

Im starting to train a horse for barrel racin and i need to know what kind of bit should i use.

  1. I would use a hinged snaffle bit. A hinged or "broken" snaffle allows you to keep contact with both sides of the horse's mouth.


  2. I would use a bit that suits my horse for jumping.

  3. definatly use a snaffel when you are working with the horse. It can be a fused, or a broken snafel. If your show requires you to use a shank, I would use a regualer 5 in. shank bit or a tom thumb at the show, but still use a snaffel at home!
