then you have bed bugs. you probably also have itchy red bumps on your skin. go to an exterminator before you do anything drastic but you will need to throw out the carpet and get a few sessions from an exterminator. check mattresses and other furniture too. Also carpet beetles are NOT venomous

if they look like one of those, then you have black carpet bugs. you will also need an exterminator.

try to find a bug, put it in a plastic bag and take it to an exterminator is the only way to find out for sure.
