  1. eh..The kind that floats? Would be my best guess...Honestly the best thing to do would be go to your local surf shop and ask an expert on the matter.Even if you don't have the cash to buy the board new you can always take the information from them and then get a deal on ebay.

  2. buy a boadyboard! :) its a growing sport and way more insane.

  3. youre really not giving much input ie

    height

    weight

    shortboard, longboard

    skill level

the waves your local break pumps out

    the list goes on....

but if youre just a kook who just wants to be seen with a surfboard then i suggest Channel Island

(not saying anything bad to people who can actually rip with a CI its just CI is the most publicized board out there being that all the top pros ride for CI and posers do what posers see)

  4. what? help us help you ? what are you in the mood for?short long fun fish? there are so many out ther just remember every one will have there own opinion so it comes down to any name brand board will be great, you will find your best board not my not your buddy's yours. have fun looking

  5. Man id go with a sharp eye... not that expensive but very nice also, since ur probably just begining id go with a fun board, wide nose and very floatable. 3-5 waves is about what we get in NJ so id go with that, u wount have much fun with a long board considering u weight 112 and i  find it very hard for someone ur size to turn it. But yeah

  6. like a surf board, skate board, snow board or long board?

snow board is the best i think

  7. According to your experience, height,  weight, and usual wave conditions...but  one of the best board shapers I know is "d**k Brewer".  When it comes to boards, you go by the shaper. However, it would be unfair not to mention that you probably have someone locally you could personally talk to and he could create a design that would work well for you. Use your search to find the info. Probably would help to read about design and theory,  just stat using that search button.

  8. You're not giving anyone enough info beyond where you want to surf and what type.  There is no definitive BEST board... it differs for each person.

You're better off going to a shaper, telling him how you surf, how much you weigh, where you surf, and how long you've been surfing.

Oahu has so many different types of waves, just saying 3-5 feet doesn't mean squat.  It can get that size at Haleiwa, at Ala Moana Bowls, or even at Pipe.

And yes, you can easily fit in with the other kooks by buying a Merrick just because it's popular... or even a Fire-wire just because it's some of the newer technology out there.  Yes, there are people who actually rip on these boards, but most people don't.

Go to a shaper, get it completely custom made for yourself, and it really doesn't cost any different than buying one off the rack.  It just costs time to wait for the board to be made.  Totally worth it.
