What kind of breed is Balto? Gender?

Question

I don't know what breed is Balto. I heard that some say he is a siberian husky, I also think that Do you know? I think he is male what about you I am asking this cause I am a big fan of Balto and I would lik e to know more about him.

Balto was a wolf-husky mix.  And he was male.

Balto was a wolf hybrid, he was husky and wolf, in the movie they mention that he is part wolf and in the beginning when he is a puppy he is with all huskies. So he is definately a husky wolf hybrid.

Balto was a male Alaskan Husky ( this is not a breed but a category of dogs bred for sled racing - see what types can be in Alaskan Huskies in the link below) -  wolf was and can be used in the Alaskan Husky so Disney wasn't that far off when they made changes to Balto's background for the movie (although Balto was not known to have any wolf in him)
