What kind of bug is this? They're all over the house now?

We have these new bugs all over our house now. I think it might be a tick but not sure which kind. If it is a tick can you guys tell me which kind? If not, do you guys know what it is?

Our dogs have ticks once in a while but they never looked anything like this one.

It's a tick.  Can you tell us anything about its size?  Also, ticks go through several instar stages on their way to becoming adults.

YUCK!!!!!

That is a female tick gorged on blood!  SO GROSS!

Don't step on it, it will pop blood on the carpets, get paper and squish it in paper tissues.
