They are mostly in the bathroom. They vary in size but are usually no bigger than a centimeter or so.

If anyone can tell me what they are, why they are in my house, and how to get rid of them, I would really appreciate it!

ALOT!

  1. I have these bugs in my bathroom too. We should start a support group! (They are very annoying, and I always see them in the shower.) When I see them I just smoosh them.

  2. I think they might be Drain Flies. Here's some info. about them, and they suggest some ideas about how to get rid of them. If all else fails, a pest control person should be able to get rid of them for you.

    Hope that helps.

  3. looks like a moth to me, try some moth balls

  4. ok, i've seen a lot in my bathroom too, but sorry i don't know what bug is it, don't worry , do they disturbed you ? they're harmless i think. but a the only way to avoid is if you have a Jumping Spider, they will help you kill all of them, i saw it many times before, in the bathroom , the Jumping Spider is very clever and fast, caught the bug and eaten them :)

  5. It's hard to tell by the picture.  Can you get a pic of the belly up? lol...the wings look like a moth..if it has a fat body underneath could be a moth..we have lots of moths..but we live in a rural area and my daughter won't let me kill any and she treats them like her pets..(and there's fifty billion kinds of moths out there..)

If, as someone said it was a drain thing..then put bleach down the drain every night. (we used to do that at a hotel I worked at to keep the fruit flies down..it was a "closing" duty)

Too bad you hate bugs cause spiders are the best thing to get rid of them...have a couple friendly spiders in a hidden corner and you're all set...and they love moths..we see them eat them all the time..my daughter gets (lightly) upset though...(not crying or anything, she knows the food chain...but the moths are her friends...) anyhow the spider will catch them real fast....suck their blood out..wrap 'em up real fast..it's really interesting to watch close up...

BUT I just noticed you said it was no bigger than a centimeter..wow that's small...oops all the writing wasted...

I'd just try putting bleach down the drain every night...see what happens...
