Question:

What kind of business would fix a video mixer?

It blinks and I've tried sound shops, and a technology place from the yellow pages. They have no clue as to who might work on them.

  1. Try calling the company that made the mixer.  They should know where you can get it repaired.


  2. if it is a professional item, the local TV station should know how to contact factory service.They might also know if there is a local contract engineer that could repair it.

    if it is a consumer item, then it might be more expensive to repair than to replace with a new one.

    i purchased a Panasonic WJ-MX- AVE5 when they first came out, and when it needed a repair, Panasonic bounced it between the Consumer Division and the Broadcast Division several times.  Eventually the consumer side fixed it even though it has a broadcast  model number. Fortunately in was still in warranty. Since that, i maintained it myself (i am a broadcast engineer) not trusting the consumer people to know how to align it properly.
