What kind of cake should I get for my gradaution party?

Question

There's this one that my mom gets downtown but it's really expensive but so GOOD it has different fruits on the top and it's GREAT!!

the other choice would be tres leches cake...I love tres leches and I can write something on the top like congrats or wateverz but i love the fruit one more even though I can't write nothing...

the tres leches my mom can make it and the other is SO expnesive...

which would you choose?

Tres Leches ... for 2 reasons.  First, it's cheaper and no need to have your parents pay for something that's unnecessary...I'm sure they already spend enough on putting you through school:) .....AND, it's really nice that your mom will make the cake for you.  That's a good choice, if only for sentimental reasons!  .....  CONGRATULATIONS!

get the one that you know people will like more.  maybe the tres leches one that you can write stuff on, as long as its big enough to serve all of the people at the party.  and if your mom makes it, make sure you thank her!

I prefer the one with fruit toppings with a whipped cream base.(Sooo much better than Buttercreme).  Some  people don't like the sogginess  of a tres leches cake. What my shop did to write on a fruit topped cake was place a thin clear film on top and write in white lettering.Still looked nice, don't forget to remove the film when serving!  ;) Congrats!

haha.. Tres Leches! We always get that cake I swear for every occasion! I bet you can relate...but for some reason I prefer ice cream cake on top of any other cake!

Because glazed fuit on a cake can come more expensive than preserves (like jelly or jam), I would choose the second option. Why but a very expensive cake when your Mom can make a nice one, too?
