What kind of camcorder would you recommend to video church services for DVD purposes?

I'm not sure if I want mini DV or hard drive. I would like to do some editing but not alot.

  2. I'm sure that others will give you good camera advice; what I'd like to add is:  Make sure that you place a good microphone at the pulpit and don't use the camera's built in one. Nothing is more annoying than audio recorded from a distant spot. Its quality is really bad and hard to understand thereby ruining the whole production. Just about all cameras have a jack for an external mic. Include a good microphone and audio cable in your budget.

  3. if you are going to use a computer to burn the DVDs, why not just run a video camera feed right to the computer along with a feed of the audio PA system. that way you won't have to worry about changing tape, even for a long winded speaker. use a capture card.  trim the beginning and end, add a cutaway shot or two, put on credit roll (date, speaker name), and you are ready to burn.
