What kind of camera should I purchase to get the look of this music video?

Would the Canon XL2 do the trick? Or is there another camera that would be better for music videos? My budget is $4,000

you could probably do this with a a average camcorder but if you have that budget I would recemmend a Canon Gl2. It's an HD camcorder with a high quality mic but I would get an external mic. the base price used on amazon is $1,499.00

The XL2 will probably do, but big production companies use much more expensive (and functional) camcorders.

The camcorders I normally see for "affordable" videos are the Canon XHA1, Sony HVR-V1U, Sony HVR-Z1U and Panasonic DVX100B.

And I hate to break it to the other poster, but the GL2 is not a high definition camcorder. It is standard definition only.
