What kind of camera will i need?

was wondering what camera i needed if i wanted to take pictures of like the sun, storms, lightning, and plants and stuff of the sorts. Thanks and God bless!

Im a beginner. I only have a digital camera and i take pics of lots of stuff just wondering what kind of camera i will need.

im a beginner and im 13 i just have a kodak, but i need a canon! its like the best camera you can get, besides fuji,,,,

everything fhotoace said is correct, but also do some research into pinhole cameras. they can be used to great effect for many of the types of shots you mentioned.

Forget shooting the sun unless at sunrise or sunset.

Lightning will require you to have a camera that has the "B" bulb setting in order to hold the shutter open for two or three strikes.

Closeup's of plants and other things will require you to have a camera that will accept a macro lens.

That means you will need a minimum of a 35 mm SLR or if you have the budget a DSLR like a Nikon D40 or Canon XT

Since you have little experience with photography, you may want to take a class and learn how cameras work, their abilities and limitations ... for that you may need a 35 mm SLR for the first few classes.
