I am buying a camera this afternoon for our vacation next week and I was wondering which one of these would be better. I have to buy it at Circuit City so please don't give me an option that circuit city does not have in their store. No time for shipping.

I am trying to stay as close to $100 as possible because I already have a sony handycam, it's just a pain in the butt to carry around for travelling. I want something quick and easy that takes great pictures and is easy to carry around.

Thanks for any help!

  1. The d40

  2. Definitely go with the the Panasonic (2nd link - pink camera)

Here is what the Panasonic has the the Kodak doesn't.

-Panasonic is a stronger, more popular and most importantly a more reliable brand.

    - Uses optical stabilization rather than digital. (No squashing or throwing away information you don't need)

-Allows you to operate it in macro mode for taking really good close up pictures. (Ants, flowers etc.)

I could go into more detail about this but I'm sure you have more answers to read so if you want more help picking out a camera let me know.

But yes definitely go with the Panasonic - lower link.

  3. You know here is a site that I always use that is great and narrowing it down on what kind of cameras to purchase. I used them recently to buy my new camera to replace and older one. I also wanted to stay with in the $100-$150 price range. I ended up opting for the Canon PowerShot (which is reviewed as being the best according to reviews!) -- so far I love it!

    Hope this helped!! :)

  4. I personally like small camera (credit card size) such as Canon 1000/1100. I got mine about $130 and it works wonder. Call Circuit City to see if they still carry it. Btw, 1100 is the newer model though it's been out for a while now..

  5. I would buy a Canon ... They are leaders in the Camera industry.  They have some of the best lenses on the market and have the best digital image processor.

I currently own 4 canon cameras ... the oldest being 17 years old and I have never had a problem
