What kind of high speed cameras were used in the Oceans one- when the Great White Shark eats the Seal?

Where can I find one of those cameras?

How much will it cost?

What accessories can I buy to make it so that I can put the videos on my computer? My computer is Windows, not Mac.

Can I put the video(s) I make on a DVD? What accessories do I need to do that?

Also, what are the underwater cameras that they used?

Where can I get those? How much will they cost? etc... (same questions as the high speed cameras)

I would like to get my SCUBA license soon, and go out and video underwater life for fun. I am 18 years old. Also, does anyone know any safe places to SCUBA in Florida (I live in Gainesville)? I don't wanna get eaten on my first day out in the water!

  1. Well.

I can't answer all of your questions but once you see the brand names of the cameras in my answer you can check eBay, Best Buy etc.

I dive in Florida a lot but mostly the caves down there. There are some safe boat dives with some charters I've dived with in Key Largo.

Your local dive shop can coach you through...it's what they do, they'll start you safe.

    Here are camera answers...

    Planet Earth Cameras

The workhorse camera of the series was Panasonic's AJ-HDC27 VariCam, chosen because of its distinctly clean image and variable frame rate capabilities (up to 60fps). Sony HDW-750 HDCAM cameras were also used in several instances. In a couple of locations, where the loss of an HD camera would prove too great a risk for the continuation of the shoot--in the remote jungles of Guyana, for instance, and also for a year-long Antarctic shoot of penguins--35mm and Super 16mm cameras were used because they were known quantities and parts could be replaced easily in the event of a breakdown. However, the Panasonic VariCam endured environmental adversity in deserts, mountains, caves, oceans and forests to prove itself to be admirably rugged and reliable.
