Get a Canon Powershot or a Sony Cybershot. Those brands seems to be the most reliable and they have some smaller ones that run on rechargeable batteries. Olympus has some cool waterproof ones also. You'll be looking for 7-8 megapixels (no more), and a rechargeable battery is a must! You'll have to talk to the sales people about memory cards, they come in all sizes, with a Canon, you will need an SD card. For Sony, you will need a Memory Stick Pro Duo and for Olympus you'll need an XD card. Go to a big electronics store and check them out! I'm sure you'll see something you like.
