What kind of car audio system should i get?

hi im a teenager that wats a really loud car sound system, but i hate rap ...im a rock guy and i want to kno what you think is a good brand for punk rock/hard rock or just rock what are a good size sub, how many do i get, what kinda amp , what size amp how many, and tweeters and all the other speakers ...i dont kno much about car audio but im intreeged .....pls fill me in oh and p.s i want to keep it under 3000$ thanks

check out the ss series of kicker speakers for your mids and highs and about a 1500.1 zx amplifier and 2 kicker solobaric 10's in box since you like rock you dont need anything bigger you might even go with 8's they would sound really good with a 1000.1 amp and about a 750.4 amp for the mids and highs

your taste of music has nothing to do with what components you should get. how they will sound is 100% dependant on the quality of the install. do not listen to anyone who says that 10's are good for this and 15's are good for that...a sealed box this and a ported box that....blah,blah...

the equipment doesn't know the kind of music your playing and manufactures do make products geard towards one kind of music over another. it is all about the install.

also, a ported box will always outperform a sealed one if it is built and tuned properly.

for a head unit, i highly recommend clarion.

i would suggest, for a kick a$$ starter system, a soundsplinter RL-p 12 with a cadence zrs500 amp (you can find cadence on the net for a or cheaper then what their site says). (yeah its a single 600w 12 sub w/ 500w going to it....but i  bet it will outperform a lot of other systems that do twice that. i have a single 15 with 1200w and it blows away guys that are doing 2500w with a pair fo whatever) have a good ported box built for the sub (i have built boxes for this sub before and have the specs if needed). for speakers, check out focal or diamond. get a 100w 4 amp to push them.

kenwood tweeters 1inch mabe 2 sets total of 4

fockford fosegate wiring kit with 4gauge power wire

fockford fosegate cap

fockford fosegate 4 channel amp to run tweeters and i would change out all your factory car speakers to infinity hook those to amp also install bass blockers so you just have highs no bass going threw

and this is well under 3,000 you will have plenty of $ left

and wont have to worry about sh** breaking if you stick with this set up
