  1. A used, cheap slow one.

  2. just get an old used car. you will get into an accident. I've been driving for over 10 years now and I just got my first new car last year. every other car I had bought had been a used car. just find some vengfull wife selling her soon to be exhusbands car. you'll get a good deal on a good car most likely that way. also be shure to take it to a mechanic to get it checked out first.

  3. Get a cheap used Japanese car.

Mini is not for people without monies.

  4. suzuki swift

    toyota yaris

    honda fit

    kia piccanto

  5. try a bumper car!!

Well at 16 yrs old you need a cosigner, you cannot legally sign a contract yet. but if your parent has good credit, you do not need a down payment

  6. You're only 16. Seriously don't try and jump to get something brand new that you are going to spend years trying to pay off in the long run. You can easily get a nice reliable and fuel efficient used car for anywhere from 2k-4k, that looks nice too.

Unless your parents are going to be buying your car, it would be so much more thrilling to try and save up your own cash and buy it yourself. The independence will completely be worth it.

You can try a Honda, Toyota, or even a Kia, and you can find something with low mileage and in pretty good shape if you keep your options open. Just make sure to look hard and compare as much as possible so you can find the right deal.

  7. Then you can't afford a mini.  You're 16, get something cheap and reliable, you WILL get into at least one accident, it's part of learning.  To fix a car cost thousands.  Do you really want payments???  A down payment can cost $3-4k and then you're doing monthly payments for 6-7 years.

Just spend $1k on an old used car to get you through the first few years until you can afford (and have the experience to drive) a nicer car.

For a cheap first car I'd recommend an old Saab, Acura, Volvo, or Honda.  You can still get something cool looking that's cheap and reliable.

  8. A older Buick station waggon.  My parents got me one and i was in a huge wreck. It saved my life!!

  9. small engine + low insurance rating is good - skoda fabia, toyota yaris

  10. A car that has allot of junk in the trunk

  11. This ain't gonna be what you want to hear, but it must be said. The Mini will be an awful car for you. They aren't all that good on fuel, and they will be expensive to insure--never mind repair.

I'd recommend that you look for a used Corolla or Sentra. Japanese cars have a deserved reputation for reliability, and they'll be much cheaper to insure. That will also eliminate any need for a down payment--you can get a perfectly good one for under $6,000.

At your age and experience level, looks and power are not necessary. If you feel otherwise, you'd be better off taking the bus until you build up some driving skills and money.
