What kind of car should i buy?

Question

I will be going to college this fall and i need a better car than the one i have. Currently i have a 2000 Chevy S-10 (it is a handy down from my older bro) but i want a nice SUV with good mpg. my brothers and mum want me to get an SUV since my college is on a hill/mountain and the only way to get there is through a highway. What regular sedan would be good for this too? my s-10 isnt going to cut it since it isnt roomy and my brother crahed it a few times before and isnt the best of working conditions. Thanks :]

A new Subaru Outback would get 18-26 mpg.  It is as rugged as an SUV with very few technical problems.  The gas mileage would be better than most SUVs.

A nice SUV would be a saturn vue green line hybrid, a saturn outlook,  an acadia, a torrent .

Maybe as a sedan or crossover that are  not soo low , pontiac vibe, a malibu, a crossfox , panda, something like that.

An SUV consumes a lot of gas, and with the price of gas it will not be a good economic move.  I have a Suburu Outback and love it...good gas milage and all wheel drive.  Best of both worlds.  Good luck in college.

If you want a suv, I would get a Subaru Forester. Its roomy, sporty, and it gets good mpg. If you want a sedan I would go with a Saturn Ion.
