No particular breed - like 97% of the cats on this planet.  How great to see a guy that adores his kitty!  Too bad more men aren't like that.  The cat's colouring is Mackerel Tabby and White.

FYI - most definitely NOT American Shorthair - this is what an American Shorthair looks like http://pets.webshots.com/photo/235085065...  Note how different the face looks.

Edit: sorry - you're wrong.  The breed standard is for American Shorthair to look like the cat that I showed you.  Overseas a lot of people refer to American cats that are domestics as American Shorthairs but they're not - they're domestic.  I know because I have a friend who breeds American Shorthairs and have three showcats of my own so I've seen hundreds of them.

looks like an american short hair (pedigree) or a domestic shorthair(non-pedigree). Very cute though.

edit: Just a note, but all american short hairs do NOT look like the one below. Some do look more like the British short hairs they decended from (especially the silver tabbies), but some look like regular cats. American shorthairs come in a variety of shapes and sizes.
