Doesn't look like any particular breed - like over 97% of the cats on this planet.  

His colouring is Flame Point which might indicate Siamese somewhere in his background.  Most likely his eyes are blue - can't tell in this pic because he's squinting.  Here's some other cats in the same colour - http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=...

He's most likely a mixed breed--predominately shorthaired tabby. That's a fairly standard tabby face, though the color is lighter than usual.

He looks just like my cat that I got from a shelter, officially its a Domestic Shorthair because it not purebred.

The shelter called mine a Flame Point Siamese mix. The Siamese mix is because of the points, cream body with points of color on ears, face, legs and tail. The Flame Point is the color of the points, its not a color that is recognized in the Siamese breed, so you wont find it listed if you looked it up. Does he have blue eyes? Mine does and its a characteristic of the Siamese breed. Mine doesn't have the full mask of color on the face, and only a couple spots on the legs, so she definitely not purebred Siamese, but there is sure some in her lineage somewhere.

Pure bred cats with the markings of a siamese but not the right color are often called a Colorpoint Shorthair, here is an article about them. Your cat looks similar to this.
