What kind of caterpillar is this?

I'm in North Carolina near Fayetteville. It was eating the leaves on my flowers. He/she was with a friend. As far as I know they're still there, lol.

It's probably a Tersa Sphinx Moth.  see http://www.silkmoths.bizland.com/xterste... , picture labelled "Xylophanes tersa, fourth instar, March 10, 2007"

(these caterpillars come in multiple color morphs)
