What kind of cds are best for burning movies off your computer and can still be watched in dvd players?

  1. None of them. A DVD is 4.4 or 8.8GB. A CD is 780MB or 0.78GB. In order to fit a movie onto a CD it would have to be greatly compressed and you would loose large amounts of picture quality. If you have some AVI movies they have already been compressed and also parts of the movie like 5.1 sound and alternate audio tracks and extras have been removed. Your best bet is to buy a DVD player that is AVI compatible so you don't have to worry about burning the movies to CD. They will play in their native format. My junky $40 Toshiba player plays both AVI and WMI movies as well as audio CDs and DVDs.

  3. I prefer to use DVD+R.  They work in most DVD players.  You will need to use a program like DVD Shrink to compress the movie to fit on a recordable DVD.
