What kind of cement/mortar do I ned to replace flagstones on my front stoop and steps?

  1. Clean out all old mortar bed.Use regular pre-mixed mortar in 60-80 bags. Also purchase a mortar addative that increases bonding strenght. Follow directions on addative I think you mix it with the water then mix the water to mortar mix.

    Mix mortar like a runny milkshake, put layer of mortar down and then set your pcs. of flagstone down in the mortar - push the flagstone down until it's at the right depth. Smooth over any excess mortar at edges.


  2. mason's mortar  will do just fine, for setting them ,and then filling in with the grout.
