  1. make a bin cage trust me it is the best.

  2. Rotastak cages are great! If you want one $70 or under then you will need to look on ebay, but they are great, i've had 3 for my syrian hamsters, they are VERY hard wearing as they have anti gnaw rings etc.

  3. yes you can use a fish tank.  however you need to put some type of wire or something over the top of the tank because he might climb out.  put some cedar shavings in the bottom of the tank and get him a wheel and whatever else you think he would like.  have fun  ;)

  4. go to Petsmart or Petco and buy a Crittertrail cage, similar to habitrail.  They make several types, I have owned 3-4 of their cages and like the X model and the Z model the best both under $40. Don't forget to buy a plastic exercise ball for it to run around the house in.

  5. Make him a bin cage they're cheap and have tons of room

This on is a little bit more costly but its bigger:

    GOOD LUCK !

  7. If you want to make him a cage then go to the first link. I is a very cheap way of making a very nice cage. If you want to buy a cage i would suggest not using connectable cages because they are very small for teddy bear hamsters even if there are a lot of them connecting . Try getting a cage recommended for rats because these are usually to small for rats and would work for teddy bear hamsters. Look at the second link. I have this cage as a travel cage for my rats and it would work nicely for your little guy. Tanks are not very good because they don't have good ventilation. You could get a tank and a tank topper but that could cost a lot of money.

  8. yes u can have a fish tank for a cage with a wire cover on the top that allows proper ventilation. Also NEVER use pine or cedar shavings cuz the can cause repository problems.
