What kind of clothes should I bring to England?

My mom said I need a coat, long pants, and sweaters but it's like...summer, isn't it?

She thinks that because I live in Hawaii it's gonna be freezing for me but I went to New York in the spring for an 8th grade field trip and was the only kid who didn't wear a jacket so I think I'll be fine wearing capris and no jacket...

what do you think?

  1. it's not so cold at the moment during the day. I was wearing a t-shirt this morning going to work - but at coffee time it was pissing it down - but ate my lunch outside.

    You don't need a coat.

    jacket for evenings.

  2. its not that cold,u just mix match summer winter like waer them nice jeans shorts with legging under neth its all about layers over here at the moment and hooded cardie sweater with vest tops inside and if its too hot take it off.u dont need coats and long pants capris should be fine

  3. I went to England in the summer time & it was cold! You will def need pants and a jacket!

  4. The key for dressing in England, even in summer, is layers.  I would say you wouldn't need a jacket, but you also won't need shorts.  I would recommend capris, pants and convertible pants (those that can be rolled up and fastened into flood pants) and short sleeved shirts that you can wear sweaters and sweatshirts over.  Depending on where you are in England the weather might not get above the low 70s on any given day.  And the weather can change from minute to minute.  It can be raining, windy and cold one minute and warm and sunny the next.  This is why layers and a small umbrella that you can carry in your purse/bag are key!

  5. A variety of raincoats, gloves, thermal underwear, trousers for the summer and arctic level gloves for the winter - a number of umbrellas (it's windy and they break quite easily). Generally be prepared for RAIN RAIN RAIN - maybe the odd bit of sunshine...

Oh and be prepared to chnage into cooler clothes (i.e take a jumper you can take off quickly if you're using the London underground), its VERY hot down there.

Seriously thats how Londoners keep warm in the winter and dry in the summer at least until we start sweating ;-)

  6. youll be fine, i live in new hampshire and its like 80 degrees outside. u wont need all that ****. wear a t shirt n shorts or jeans. the weather is somewhat similar to here and england except they have more rain. and ur pretty lucky u live in hawaii
