The other day I saw the whitest clouds, I mean not your grandfathers white clouds! They were like white computer paper, very BRIGHT white, if thats a valid explanation. The weather was sunny and pleasant and they were like the animated shapeful fair weather clouds, with sharply outlined edges. I've never seen clouds so white!

  1. Cumulus, with no grey or black bits to chuck out the wet stuff, hence the white colour. Pity the same can't be said of today. DJ tuts.

  2. probably cumulonimbus, the reason for them being so white is likely just a very clear and high ceiling.

  3. You haven't described enough for me to say what type these might have been, but the reason they might have seemed so white is due to a phenomenon known as "Mie scattering" that accounts for the white colour of clouds in the first place.

Since the sun was out,  the water vapour that forms clouds scattered all the coloured constituents of the white light coming from the sun, making the cloud itself appear very very white - blindingly so.

  4. They are called,

    Clouds.

  5. they are simple clouds

  6. Cumulus clouds

those are your white, puffy fluffy clouds that often form shapes that look like things
