I was told by my cable company that I need better coax run, but I need to know just how good. Is rg-6u good enough for charter digital? Assuming I will put good connectors on.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  1. RG 6 is what we use for any cable. If the ends are on good and not "sucked out"  you will be and have no loss assuming you arent going very far. If you use compression fittings and they are put on correctly you will have no problems.

The best bet is to have the cable company replace it when they bring the new box.

  2. Should be fine. If you are having issues you can always ask them if there is any signal loss once it leaves the coax jack on the wall. I had a good cable run on one what but had a -19 dB loss at the jack.

  3. Yes, RG6 is fine and it is what the cable companies use. RG11 is only used for large signal distribution systems. You can use any connectors, but the compression ones are best.
