What kind of commercial wood is safe to roast marshmallows on?

I got a "Duraflame" log but it says you can't cook over it. I've seen many in supermarkets but they all say you can't cook from them!!!

Buy the bags of wood chips for this..do not use any man made logs..they all have chemicals in them..You can buy oak wood chips, mesquite woodchips, hickory wood chips or any wood chips made for a bbq..

Just make a fire using dry tree leaves and stuff you find outside on the ground.
