1. Pretty much any computer would do for that. Just make sure it has a decent size hard drive for you to store your music and pictures.

  2. 2GB RAM, 3.0 GHZ, 500 Gb Harddrive, A good graphix card..

Meh that should be around 1000, if you want cheaper, you can settle.. It doesnt need to be that good for your requirements.

  3. You can go for basic pc setup comprises of:

Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4200+ or Intel Dual Core E2140.

    Motherboard: (nvidia chipset)

    Hard disk:160gb (sata 2)

    1Gb DDR2 RAM

    TFT 17"

    Speakers creative or logitech.

    UPS(must be of good brand)

    logitech keyboard and mouse

    DVD writer(liteon or sony)

This specification is sufficient. Dont go for higher configuration now as technology is changing at fast pace an so as the prices. This specification will do the job as per your requirement.

  4. Basically, any single core PC with 512mb of RAM with Windows XP installed will do the trick. You don't need much power if all you want to do is that. If you really wanted to you could swap the HDD on it for a 320gb one if you intended on storing alot of stuff on it. I paid $120 all up for mine and I can watch Anime on it and go on MSN and stuff too ^_^ (<3 Deathnote and Eureka seveN)

  5. An Acer with an AMD Athlon duo core processor will do the trick nicely at a great cost. The Acer brand is not well known so you're not paying extra for the name, like you would Sony or Toshiba, yet it is kicking butt in the quality department and can totally hold its own compared with the brand boys.

    Hope this helps.

  6. For what you need absolutely every laptop build in the last 5 years will do. Pick the cheapest one and an external hd (bigger=better).

  7. I would suggest you to buy a core2duo/Pentium 4 with a higher RAM... with 80GB hard disk..

You can cut down the cost in monitors and speakers..

The main thing you would require is internet and hence a higher RAM preferably 1GB... so that you can use the internet applications faster..
