Question:

What kind of concrete should I buy to pave my walkway?

I want to pave only a small area. The remaining walkway is very old and the color is dark grey. I don't want to use white new concrete because it wouldn't match with the remaining walkway.

  1. Rots of ruk.

Your not gonna like this but here it goes.Since your trying to color match it's what I call the impossibe dream. This is the major problem with intertgal color,it can, will, does fade.

I believe Home Depot and Lowe's carry the smaller bottles of color and I thought gray was one.Your going to have to mix what we call test batchs recording how much color and how wet your mix is.Then wait say 3 weeks to see how it colors in,after it's somewhat cured.

Once you have the mix recorded you can then go ahead with your project. There are diferent color manufactures and not a one size fits all senerio. It can come in powdered or liquid forms as well.

I included a link that may help give you some basic information. This is the primary reason I shy away from intragal color, opting for stain or color hardners.

    Good Luck

  2. 4200lbs mix with a color blend put in at the plant !They have dyes they can add too the mix, just bring a sample or photo of the color of the walkway that is there, and they will try to match !Then all you have too do is pour it, screed it, and trowl it , and be done unless you want a broom finish. Also cut expansion joints!

  3. Get some general purpose concrete from your local hardware store. While you are there buy either black concrete tint or a box of dark gray/black tile grout. Mix the grout or dye in with your concrete mix until you get the color you want.
