What kind of container would I put alcohol in?

I want to sterilize a safety pin, I heard alcohol ( the rubbing kind ) works. But, do I pour it in a regular drinking glass? Or a plastic container? I saw some questions where people used alcohol to clean their retainers.

HELP! I don't want to poison anyone, and my mom won't buy me a needle till she sees how her nose piercing works out. Wth? Are we connected or something.

BTW I'm doing cartilage, and don't lecture me on how I shouldn't do it with a pin, if it gets infected, my own fault.

Your being stupid. One you already know you shouldn't do it yourself so why are you? Two a safety pin is not the proper equipment. Three rubbing alcohol is going to sterilize it either is hydrogen peroxide or fire or boiling water. The only think that could sterilize it is an autoclave. Piercings are a privilege and shouldn't be done just because you want to show off to your little friends. If it's important to YOU(not for social reasons) to have a healthy piercing you can wait till you can get it done properly.
