Ted as well as both of his brothers were key in passing the 1965 Immigration Act that is still in effect today. What kind of country did they envision?

  1. The Kennedy's did not realize they were to do the will of the people.  They figured they were more than merely administrative officers for the people of the United States.  They did what THEY thought was a good idea, but it is critical to understand, they live in a mansion on a hill in a very remote and rich place in this country.  But too... they didn't care.

  2. Not the one that is happening today. They believed the laws they ruled in would be followed, which they are not. why, because the politicians want the illegalls support and so do big businesses. Who pays....Tax payers do. me and you. I write my congressman and senator on a regular basis. Im sure I'm obnoxious, but so are the illegals

  3. a multi-cultural melting pot where people from many different ethnic backgrounds got along jolly well benefiting from the cultural riches that each brought with them and all enjoying and contributing to the american dream. I suppose. I doubt anyone envisaged how it all turned out in reality.

  4. I know (from personal experience of having lived in that era) that they fought for civil rights in this country and their vision was one of equality and supporting the fightfor civil rights.

They stood for something then that this country sorely needed and which is sorely lacking today.  I once thought the KKK and the n**i parties were the worst bunch of criminals, until the Republicans got their hands on our government.  Now look at the race intollerance, the bigotry, the walls and fences that turn our country into a prison camp. When you build walls to keep people out, you build the same walls to keep people IN.  The Bush administration has done everything it possibly can to undermine and jeopardize equal opportunity in this country...among all their other efforts to destroy the Federal Government.  But I have a new dream, Barrak Obama...and I am voting for him in November.

    Our FIRST Black President!

It's about time we got rid of those fascists in office.
