Sorry this is so long but I want to explain as best as I can, So I spent that last year with five other girls on a missionary team any way so we all made these blankets you know the cut and tie ones out of this fleece. We cut corners off (so 4) double sided (so 8 pieces of fleece total) so I have have these 1 in square pieces of fleece scrap material that I saved. So I wanted to make something for each girl to give them at Christmas like a memento of our friendship. I want each girl to have a piece of each others blanket. I just don't know what to do with them. I was thinking a shadow box maybe with a picture and a quote. I don't know I need more ideas please!!!!!! Thanks for reading : )

  1. Make them all an ornament for the tree. Like a little stocking maybe. Cut small pieces of the fabric and sew them together. Cut into stocking shape, ect. Then you could add theie names with a glitter fabric paint or maybe their first inital with an iron on letter patch. You could then put a picture inside with a quote and date on the back. Hope I helped....good luck!

  2. You can make a gift basket with following things:

    1)  cut the fleece pieces into a heart to remind them of how much God love them and your friendship to them

    2)  a bible

    3) some fabric squares(  get a lot of them)

    4) various colored thread ( red, yellow, blue, purple, gray, white, black, orange, silver ,gold)

    5) a package of Sewing needle

    6) a sewing book

    7) addresses of where to reach you and the other 5 girls on your missionary team

    8) on a sheet of paper : a list of what the item mean

    example

the fabric squares are for the people god send to us to meet and help in are journeys thru life

the thread is to remind that even tho; we each go are separate ways  we tie the people we meet and help with thread of God's love.

the needles are the Word of God, piercing each soul's heart and binding them and us with his love and grace

    you get the idea.

them have them make quilt, pillow or something and mail it to you along with a letter of what as happen to them and you do the same.

    I hope this helps

  3. I would say make mini quilts out of them. From there either put it into a shadow box maybe embroidering something meaningful to the group on it so that the quilt is the "thing" and not just behind the point of interest.

or make Christmas tree ornaments out of the mini quilts.  So instead of something that is just lying around the house it is something that is looked at once a year and said  "oh I remember when...." and the story is told to children and grandchildren etc...

But if you go with the christmas ornament if they really wanted it could be hung up all year round, where as the shadow box is kind of limiting.

  4. I think that you are on the right track with a shadow box or a picture frame with a photo or photos. It suggests that you value the friendship and memories with them enough to protect it and display it. Make each one a little different to also show that each one is unique and worthy of your time to create each one.

  5. Give each girl a new blanket with a piece of the old one stitched in somewhere.

  6. Cover a wooden picture frame and also put in a picture of yourselves ;)))
