  1. Murder, Drugs Sale, Child Molestation, Rape, Certain kinds of Robbery will keep you out. If the man did time for political witch hunting as it happens in 3rd World Coutries he may even get a red carpet assylum gift so time in that case will not matter.

  2. If he did 7 yrs in a federal prison, he had a sentence in excess of 10 yrs for a federal crime.  Extremely serious -- major felony conviction and probably multiple charges. It would have to be something along the lines of tax fraud, embezzlement/financial fraud, counterfeiting, smuggling, bank robbery -- something federal, not state.

Good thing he is permanently barred from the US -- very bad, very dangerous guy.

  3. JUST DONT DO CRIMES

  4. For someone to be given 7 years in federal prison they had to do plenty. They would not be allowed to enter

  5. I was kept out of Canada for two years for a DUI that I received in the US seven years prior.  All this was happening while I was married to a Canadian and applying for permanent residence there.

I guess what I am saying is that if they are so strict on things like this (my dui was a misdemeanor, no jail time) I can only imagine that more serious offences would be treated with even stricter rules.  I have heard that if you are a convicted felon you might as well hang it up---you're not getting in.  In my case I had to ask for a pardon in order to be granted entrance back into Canada.
