  2. Ukraine's currency is called Hryvnia (pronounced grivnee) with the abbreviation of UAH. It was introduced in 1996 to replace the old "coupon".  Also the US dollar is widely used/accepted by merchants and taxis.

    The exchange rate for Hryvnia to US Dollar is 4.5998 uah to one $ as of 14 July 2008.
