What kind of customs inspections can an American military member expect when returning to Germany from the US?

I am going back to Germany soon from leave in the US. I was wondering about what kind of inspections I may be subject to when passing through the airport.

why don´t you just fly MAC and avoid all of that? :-) Anyways, there are not too many restrictions on what you can bring to Germany so unless you´re really smuggling stuff (which you probably aren´t because you don´t want to jeopardize your military career) you´ll be fine. If you´re in doubt, just check the german customs office website
