I was in a parking lot and the timing belt broke @ 200,000 miles. needless to say i didn't drive it any farther. i had it towed to the local shop and now i'm wondering what kind of damage i could be looking at.

  1. depends on how much damage was done, you might need a new engine.

And of course she got 200k, euro cars are by and far the best out there.

  2. It depends how much damage was done really.

Could be anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars.

  3. Wow, I'm more amazed that you got 200K out of that thing. Those things are so terrible!

  4. if you didn't drive it hopefully just the timing belt will need to be replaced.

With 200,000 miles on it i would get a new vehicle.  its going to be expensive to fix the timing belt on a bug.  i had a friend who did that on a isuzu rodeo and the mechanic told him he would be better off rebuilding the engine.

  5. bent valves, so , its gunna need top end rebuild,

needless to say it would have been cheaper to replace the belt when it was due...

    Maybe around $2000 to $3000

  6. $700 (Abt.)

Congrats on 200,00 Miles by the way. VERY NICE.
