  1. are u serious

  2. Don't worry buddy.  I have your answers.

In order to be considered a serious Computer Software Engineer, you need a bachelor's degree.

Upon completion, and finding your job, you can expect to earn anywhere from $48,895-$60,028, annually, of course.

    Hope this helps!!!

  3. electrical engineer, information technology etc  salary from 8 dollars an hour to a couple hundred thousand a year, matters what degree and what school you go to.

  4. Salaries vary - for all majors.  People good at what they do (regardless of what that is) make a lot of money, people bad at it will not.  There is potential with all degrees though.

I would major in Computer Science.  IT is an option, but IT will not give you all that you need for software engineering.  IT (Information Technology) will cover a broad range of topics, but not in-depth.  You will do some programming, but not a lot.  Computer Science is more in-depth study, but not as broad.  You will do lots of programming and write lots of software, but you will not focus as much on networking, general hardware, and things like that.  If you cover networking, you will do it at the programming level rather than connecting cables and setting up networks for companies.  If you cover hardware, it will be in-depth look at computer architecture and you will break apart the important hardware (memory, CPU, secondary drives, etc) and learn how they are actually made and the very basic level.

So shoot for a CS degree.  It's what you need.

  5. Here's a chart from PayScale.com showing the median software engineer salary in different U.S. cities: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=... And this chart shows median software engineer salaries by degree/major subject: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=...

A computer engineer salary range will vary depending on many factors, including experience, employment setting, etc. To find more accurate salary data for your specific computer engineer position, you can take PayScale's free salary survey. http://www.payscale.com/?src=yahooA

    Hope that helps,
