Do you use a big frilly diaper bag or a plain one. Also, do you pack everything and stuff it full of things your baby probably won't use, or do you just throw a diaper in your purse and go? I use a plain diaper bag, and I pack everything.

  1. Cute question!  :)

Plain ol' diaper bag for us!  I pack the bare minimum, lol.  Half the time I forget diapers, but that's only because I don't have to pack diapers for daycare (he keeps a supply there).  I do keep 2-3 diapers in my car just in case though.

And it depends on where I'm going too.  If it's just to the store or something that won't take all day or longer than an hour, I actually don't bring anything.  :)

  2. I have a cute bag with her name sewn on. it has like 3 extra outfits, diapers, wipes, a swim diaper, sunscreen, tylenol, teething drops, toys, juice and nail clippers. oh and some gerber puffs.

  3. I love my Skip Hop!!!!

I pack it with diapers, wipes, two changes of clothes for the baby, two blankets (receiving ones), my wallet and checkbook and my cell phone.

    That's all!

  4. Sort of seems to depend upon the baby's  age.  While they are still new borns, it seems like we have huge diaper bags loaded with plenty of diapers, tons of wipes, bottles, backup bottles, water, formula, changing pad, toys, pacifiers, etc.  Then as they start into solid foods, there is even more to include snack foods.

As they get older, you need fewer diapers, and fewer wipes (when they are young and formula/breast feed, every diaper change requires wipes, as they transition to solids, you only need the wipes for poopy diapers).  You also start to lose the formula and changing pads.

Finally, by the time they are toddlers, you only need a couple of diapers, a few wipes, a sippy, and spare towel for a changing pad.

  5. When my daughter was younger, I carried a plain black diaper bag and I always took way too much stuff with me!

  6. I'm having a boy so our diaper bag is big and brown with green and blue swirls and circles on it..I have it loaded up. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

  7. Good, fun question  : )

I have several but I usually just end up using the simple chocolate brown one w/ light blue seams (Baby Sac brand, I think).  It's not frilly but it's not as plain as some others that I have.  I pack the entire house and then some, seriously.

  8. I carry 2 diapers, small pack of wipes,1 outfit, In my medium size purse. I Breastfeed so i dont need the bottles or extra stuff that other moms have to lug around. And for just "in case" I keep a blanket, umbrella, pacifier, and toys in my car at all times.

  9. plain bag. its sage green with a few white details and i pack everything he MIGHT need... but ususally doesnt!

  10. i have two bags

a small purple backpack and big mamas and papas baby bag (black and silver, extremely stylish)

the small one is used to go shopping and around town

the big one is used to when we spend the entire day out

    I usually carry :

    Changing mat

    Bottles

    Formula in a dispenser

    Flask with hot water

    An extra set of clothes

Toy/s - depending on how long I am going to be

    Nappies

    Wipes

    Powder

    Burp cloths

    Spare dummy/pacifier

    Bottle of water for drinking

Plastic bags to put wet clothes and dirty nappies in

    Spare Bibs

    spare cap

I also always carry a spare recieving blanket

  11. I have a couple of diaper bags, I don't use them much though.  If we are going out somewhere social, I will bring lots of stuff-toys, books etc.  If we are just going to be out grocery shopping I usually don't bring anything-I have some diapers and wipes in the car all the time.

    Both bags are pretty plain.

  12. No diaper bag, backpack all the way!  Backpacks actually stay put when you are chasing a toddler.

I'm 50/50 sometimes I make sure we have everything under the sun (spare outfits, jackets AND shorts in case it gets cold or hot), bandaids, etc.  And sometimes I just make sure there are diapers.

  13. I have a blue teddy bear diaper bag, and most of the time I don't take it anywhere unless I'm going to be gone for more then an hour or two. When I do pack it tho it's packed full. I put extra everything I swear. 2 pairs of pants, 2 shirts (if she spits up or gets dirty I can keep her cute and clean haha) a billion toys it seems like, sippy cups full of different juice and milk, and snacks.

  14. I used a lot of different kinds depending on the stage of my baby.  It wlso would depend on where we were going and for how long.

If I would be out for the day I would pack a huge diaper bag with EVERYTHING!!  If it was just to run out and get groceries, I would bring two diapers, wipes and a bottle.

  15. I've got two diaper bags:  both are pretty plain - grey and black Eddie Bauer.  I use the big one if we're going out somewhere and pack everything (enough diapers, clothes and mess rags for a baby army, wipes, sunscreen, diaper cream, lotion, stain pens, bug repellent cloths, waste bags, etc, etc) and then some (all my friends know I am the Gadget Queen!).  I usually use the smaller one if we're just running uptown and I'll toss in a couple of diapers, a change of clothes and some wipes.

  16. I have a cute bag that doesn't look like a diaper bag (more like a casual handbag).  It's made to look small but can hold a lot.  I put 10 things in it.

    diaper

    wipes

    juice

    milk

    cup

    snack

    powder

    spoon

    water

    change of clothing

  17. This is the one I have....it's stuffed to the brim with c**p that we hardly ever use, but "just in case...."!  Obviously it's not a real diaper bag, but I guess I'm not your typical "mom" :)

  18. I have a john deere bag that was obviously a gift from someone that can use a sewing machine.  I put the basics in there but not everything.  My normal list is diapers, wipes, rash cream, spoons, bibs, snacks, changing pad, hand cleaner, change of clothes, and well to be honest my wallet most of the time because I do not want to carry 2 bags.

  19. I use a plain brown tote style bag.  It is made to be a diaper bag but looks like a big purse.  I bring everything - extra outfit, diaper, wipes, nasal bulb, toys, my sling, bibs, socks, burp cloths, plastic baggies for pooped on clothing, breast pads, and my wallet and cell phone.

I also have a columbia messenger style bag but it is smaller and doesn't fit much.

  20. I use a small backpack pandora by northface, it works great for us(subway, bus, taxi, walking...) cuz we live in NYC and I carry everything in that backpack, I've gotten better over the last year though and now I take try to take out stuff before we leave so the bag is not so freakin heavy LOL

I also have 3 diaper bags, that I've like never used a Kenneth Cole one, a penelope picklebottom(i think thats the name) and the one the hospital gave me

  21. I use a diaper back with my daughters name on it. It isn't anything fancy, I just think it's cute. I also pack EVERYTHING!! Lol.

  22. For X-Mas, my husband's work bought me a black and tan bag (not a diaper bag, but I use it as one and that is why they bought it for me) from Crate & Barrel that comes with a matching umbrella.  I have a little leather pouch that I keep trial size lotion, shampoo, powder and butt cream just in case.  A soft plastic holder with a zipper so diapers and tampons do not get wet and wipes.  A cushioned plastic mat to put down on changing tables.  Then my wallet and other misc items.

  23. I carry a plain light brown suede diaper bag...I pack everything.

  24. I have a black diaper bad and it's always full but I have 2 kids lol.

  25. I am using the Similac one I got at the hospital. It has held up for 13 months so far. Now that she is 13 months I don't pack nearly as much as I used to. All I have in there now are diapers, wipes, snacks, drink, socks, and a change of clothes.

  26. Black backpack diaper bag.

It's packed pretty full, but I usually leave it in the car.

  27. My diaper bag is pretty big... its a solid color but has polka dots inside. I have everything in it that I might possibly need. I'd rather be safe then sorry. I am always scared i am going to need something and not have it. but def. the main things in there like a receiving blanket, wipes, diapers, bottles, bibbs. stuff like that. i do have his nail kit in there with like the thermometer and stuff. i could probably take that out. and i have the diaper bag lotions n stuff in there as well. got pretty much everything in there i might need. and if there is an emergency and i cant make it home that night or something..i have everything to survive for that day in there!

  28. Good question. I never use a diaper bag. When I was pregnant with my son I got a plastic drawer organizer with 5 drawers from target for 12 dollars. I packed it full of outfits, diapers wipes, formula, bottles, snacks, wipes, bibs, medicine, creams, and toys. I leave it in the trunk of my car and before I go into stores I change my son's diaper and make sure he has a sippy cup (bottle when he was younger) and I keep one diaper in his stroller just in case. Now that I am pregnant with my little girl, I just bought another organizer and packed it full of things for her! It has worked great for me as I do not like to carry bags or purses. Plus I always have a back up if I need it. (Like when my tire popped and I had to wait 3 hours to get my car towed off the on ramp of a major highway and my son was with me!!!)

  29. I use a plain bag, which clearly had not been designed as diaper bag, but has the ideal size. I tend to carry around a complete changing table: A big towel, because I don't want to lay baby on dirty surfaces, wash clothes, diapers, plastic bag for dirty diapers, water bottle to have enough clean water to wash baby, if needed, one or two changes of clothing, burb clothes, sometimes even a blanket.

  30. i have a tokidoki bag!!! adios star!!
