What kind of difference is there in using the gas choices at your local gas station?

People usually pick regular (the least priced gas). I was wondering what if I were to use Premium or that other one (forgive me I do not drive yet but I'm getting a license soon and have a car to worry about). Would the others last longer or make the driving change?

  1. the difference in the gas is the octane rating the higher the octane the better the cars performance will be. the lower octane like 87 will burn faster than the 93 octane which will burn slower and give the engine a little more power than the 87 some times you will get what they call spark knock from the 87 oct.because of the fast burning gas...

  2. Higher octane fuels are for vehicles with higher compression ratios - the mount the air/gas mixture is squeezed in the cylinder. There are still cars that need higher octane, like Cadillac, Corvette, Mercedes or anything turbocharged. Check your owner's manual to see what kind of fuel is recommended.

  3. We're giving away a $250 Pre-paid Gas Card

  4. in most of todays cars, using premium, or higher octane gas is a waste of money, and actually decreases preformance and economy. Vehicles today are designed to run on lower octane fuel, this is why they have O2 sensors and computers, to properly monitor what is being burned and make adjustments
