The faster the better. I have kids that don't pause very long for pictures. Quality, of course, is very important as well. I don't care about it's physical appearance (size, shape, color, etc).

  1. you probably need a fast lens....................

the fasted the lens,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,nikon d40(cheap..shop around) with a 50mm f1.8 lens.................should do it.................the f1/4 is twice as fast. but the price goes up..........

don't worry too much about not being zoom.you can crop most piks..check the reviews...........

  2. Any kind is good kodak or something but make sure it is fairly close to four hundred cuz u don't want a bad camera

  3. Cannon is a good brand. I love Olympus. Don't get a Kodak. They are better at making printers. Just stick to a brand that specializes in cameras. They make them better.

Image stablization is a good feature to have.

Its always a good idea to check out the user reviews online. Then you can see what real people think about the camera before you buy it.

  4. Consider the Canon PowerShotA720 IS

It's 8 megapixels, 6X optical zoom, has image stabilizer, and you can set shutter speed for action shots. Should be a tad below $200-

  5. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d...

this one is touch screen, 10.0 MP, has a face detection and image stabalization

    and its only $250!

  6. i suggest the fuji S9000 or S9100. I have one and i love it. It does great indoors etc. It will take about 2 pics a second at high speed. It is a little scary as it is built like those big fancy professional cameras but you can just leave it on auto and believe me, the difference with that vs a smaller point and shoot makes a difference.

  7. buy canon powershot a 720 or canon sd890
