Please don't defend her. If she was running on the Democratic ballot, you know the Republican party would be would be destroying her right now. I think theres a lot of dirt to be told about her. What have you heard?

  1. If she was a democrat we would of heard the lunatics on the right crying "FAMILY VALUES"  as they did with President Clinton. Poor guy one BJ undermines the surplus his economic plans left behind. President Bush did not cheat on his wife but many around the world (the majority) call him a mass murderer (You didn't know? Go backpacking through Europe).

  2. Excuse me, but her ethics investigation that she has asked her office to do just doesn't cut it. Some of us were born at night, but it wasn't last night....that's about like asking the Bush administration to look into his ethics.

  3. The left has made a mistake here and they don't even know it yet.  They have been so desperate to find SOMETHING to discredit this woman with that they have played every single card they have against her in the short term, rather than waiting until closer to the election to drag ALL of it out.

Now, whatever they had will die down by election time and while it may not be forgotten, it will all seem less important than the fact that she's a more self-reliant woman than anyone the "feminists" have been able to parade in front of us.

Sarah Palin is going to be the first female VP ever.  Get used to it.

  4. Well, the results of the investigation about the trooper firing business are supposed to come out just days before the election so... I guess that's one potential downfall which nobody will even have to try to keep under wraps to release before the election :-P

  5. Who is Sarah Palin? Here's some basic background:

She was elected Alaska 's governor a little over a year and a half ago. Her previous office was mayor of Wasilla, a small town outside Anchorage. She has no foreign policy experience.1

Palin is strongly anti-choice, opposing abortion even in the case of rape or incest.2

She supported right-wing extremist Pat Buchanan for president in 2000. 3

Palin thinks creationism should be taught in public schools.4

She's doesn't think humans are the cause of climate change.5

She's solidly in line with John McCain's "Big Oil first" energy policy. She's pushed hard for more oil drilling and says renewables won't be ready for years. She also sued the Bush administration for listing polar bears as an endangered species—she was worried it would interfere with more oil drilling in Alaska.

How closely did John McCain vet this choice? He met Sarah Palin once at a meeting. They spoke a second time, last Sunday, when he called her about being vice-president. Then he offered her the position.

We also asked Alaska MoveOn members what the rest of us should know about their governor. The response was striking. Here's a sample:

She is really just a mayor from a small town outside Anchorage who has been a governor for only 1.5 years, and has ZERO national and international experience. I shudder to think that she could be the person taking that 3AM call on the White House hotline, and the one who could potentially be charged with leading the US in the volatile international scene that exists today. —Rose M., Fairbanks, AK

She is VERY, VERY conservative, and far from perfect. She's a hunter and fisherwoman, but votes against the environment again and again. She ran on ethics reform, but is currently under investigation for several charges involving hiring and firing of state officials. She has NO experience beyond Alaska. —Christine B., Denali Park, AK

As an Alaskan and a feminist, I am beyond words at this announcement. Palin is not a feminist, and she is not the reformer she claims to be. —Karen L., Anchorage, AK

Alaskans, collectively, are just as stunned as the rest of the nation. She is doing well running our State, but is totally inexperienced on the national level, and very much unequipped to run the nation, if it came to that. She is as far right as one can get, which has already been communicated on the news. In our office of thirty employees (dems, republicans, and nonpartisans), not one person feels she is ready for the V.P. position.—Sherry C., Anchorage, AK

She's vehemently anti-choice and doesn't care about protecting our natural resources, even though she has worked as a fisherman. McCain chose her to pick up the Hillary voters, but Palin is no Hillary. —Marina L., Juneau, AK

I think she's far too inexperienced to be in this position. I'm all for a woman in the White House, but not one who hasn't done anything to deserve it. There are far many other women who have worked their way up and have much more experience that would have been better choices. This is a patronizing decision on John McCain's part- and insulting to females everywhere that he would assume he'll get our vote by putting "A Woman" in that position.—Jennifer M., Anchorage, AK

So Governor Palin is a staunch anti-choice religious conservative. She's a global warming denier who shares John McCain's commitment to Big Oil. And she's dramatically inexperienced.

In picking Sarah Palin, John McCain has made the religious right very happy. And he's made a very dangerous decision for our country.

She is a religious nut job.

  6. I dont know...the loony libs are too busy attacking her daughter to dig any up

    McPalin 08

  7. Several of the above answers are quite amusing.  The Republicans are working hard to publicize the story about her daughter's pregnancy.  This helps because it makes her appear to be a victim of personal smears, but even more because it changes the topic from all the real problems that have come up.

She has boasted she is a fierce opponent of pork spending and fought the bridge to nowhere.  In fact, she campaigned in favor of the bridge while running for governor, and hired a lobbyist to obtain several pork projects while mayor.

But then honesty seems to be a chronic problem for Ms Palin.  She fired Alaska's highly respected top cop after he refused to fire a trooper who was her ex brother in law and in a nasty divorce with her sister.  She denied that there had been phone calls pressuring him to fire the trooper.  Turns out there were 24,  and that doesn't count the e-mails.  She promised to cooperate with the Troopergate investigation ordered by the AK state legislature, but now is stonewalling.   She now says she'll be happy to work with an investigation, but she has one tiny condition: she wants to appoint the people who will investigate her.

When she was mayor, she also fired the police chief, for endorsing her election opponent.  When asked about that, she lied and said she hadn't fired him.  She also lied about the town librarian, who she fired for resisting censorship.

She boasted in her speech last night about putting the Governor's private plane for sale on ebay, and got big applause for it.  She forgot to mention that her defense attorney in the Troopergate case is being paid for by public funds.

One guy above said, "I don't think you'll find out that she was running around with anti-American extremists."  I think we'll find out she was sleeping with one.  In fact, I know we will, because we already have,  Todd Palin for 7 years was a registered member of a party which wants Alaska to secede from the United States.  The founder of the Party, Joe Vogler, once declared, "the fires of h**l are glaciers compared to my hate for the American Government, and I won't be buried under their d**n flag."  Nope, no amti-Americanism here.

There's actually more I didn't get to, buyt what's here makes for a good start.

  8. Her husband drove drunk when he was in his early 20's and she admits to smoking pot.  Of course they weren't doing coke like someone else admits to doing in his early 20's

Oh, that ethics investigation that is going on.  The one that she asked to be initiated.

Her daughter is pregnant, but she's getting married to the father and keeping the baby.

Of course there was a pretty painful sportscast she did 20 years ago.  That was pretty bad.

The National Enquirer is running a story about her "Family War."  Their source is her ex-brother in law or his family that probably have a bit of a grudge considering she tried to get him fired.  They have no proof right now, only "allegations from an anonymous source in her extended family."

So far, no good buddies who bomb federal buildings or life long spiritual advisers who are blatant racists.  No cocaine either.

  9. For that answer you need to contact George Soros.

  10. she was in a secessionist party, she tried to censor the library and fire the librarian, she is under investigation for an abuse of power, she raised money and recieved lots of pork from Ted Stevens, she supported the Bridge to Nowhere until it was no longer politically expedient, she supports Alaska First, her crazy pastor gives Obama's a run for his money, she wants creationism to be taught in public schools, the town of Wasilla was left in financial ruin after she was done with it and there was a movement to recall her, she replaced the guy she fired with one who had sexual harassment problems, she thinks global warming is a myth, she wants to take polar bears off the endangered species list so they can be shot from the air

there's probably more but hey, that was all without mentioning the pregnant unwed teenager

  11. I think you will hear more of her abuses of power, firing more staff whose opinions she does not agree with.

    This is her trademark.

Shortly after becoming mayor, former city officials and Wasilla residents said, Ms. Palin approached the town librarian about the possibility of banning some books.

Ann Kilkenny, a Democrat who said she attended every City Council meeting in Ms. Palin’s first year in office, said Ms. Palin brought up the idea of banning some books at one meeting. “They were somehow morally or socially objectionable to her,” Ms. Kilkenny said.

The librarian, Mary Ellen Emmons, pledged to “resist all efforts at censorship,” Ms. Kilkenny recalled. Ms. Palin fired Ms. Emmons shortly after taking office but changed course after residents made a strong show of support. Ms. Emmons left her job and Wasilla a couple of years later.

  12. I've heard that she is normal person with a family that has the usual family issues. I don't think you'll find out that she was running around with anti-American extremists.

  13. She's a token female, she's unqualified and scary.

They'd knock her calling her kids whacked names, plus her daughters pregnant at 17, and McCain has the same stance on abortion as the rest of his funny little party.

I don't actually live in the US but she scares the c**p out of me.

    Happy Wednesday :0

  14. I think she might let is slip that she is a swinger!  FLMAO
