are good with academic things, abstract concepts, and sports? Basically, they're bad with life skills, but good with academic skills. It is not an effort issue, they are highly motivated(or so it seems).

  1. there doesn't have to be any type of disability associated with this behavior.  sometimes, it's just choice.


  2. This sounds a bit like Asperger's Syndrome. It is a form of autism in which the person cannot understand social norms. They often are very good academically, but can't interact appropriately with other people. Check it out on the 'Net to see if it fits.
