I am wanting to put some pictures from my camera onto a disk but I don't know which kind I need. I have tried using a DVD+R 4.7Gb 8xspeed disk which the guy in the shop said would be good to use but every time I try to burn the picture files to the disk it comes up with an error message saying that this disk cannot be used and that I should try again with a different disk, why is it saying this and what kind of disk do I need to use?

  1. you only can burn once only on a DVD-R then after the disk becomes unwritable and you cant erase whats on them as their write protected.

DVD-RW you can erase and burn again

  2. you can only use dvd+r disks if your using a dvd-r\+rw drive, check to see what your writer is capable of using. for pictures i would use cd-r disks.

  3. I've had this problem. I would suggest using a different BRAND. I have a spare laptop that I use periodically which will burn any DVD or CD. But my newer laptop refuses to burn to the Tesco brand that I have but will burn another brand such as Woolworths. I know these are cheap but I never had problems with Woolies, just Tesco.

Also, check if you can actually burn DVDs with your drive. Some might just burn CDs and can ONLY read DVDs such as game discs/software.

  4. Try a Cd-r 8x Speed

Should Work A Treat For You!

  5. You should be able to burn pics to cd and dvd it makes no difference what disc you use

  6. What software are you using?

Are you trying to burn at greater than 8x speed?

Are you creating a data disk when burning?

  7. Any disk will work, but for you I'd recommend you use a CD-R disk of any speed. The DVD+R 4.7GB is a great disk and it should work but the problem is that your computer can't write on them types of disks.

CD-R's are the lowest type of disks you can get, if you can't write on those, then I'd suggest upgrading your disk drive.

  8. I would recommend you download VSO PhotoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, on windows, never had a problem!

It is one of the best DVD Slideshow Software programs to create photo  slideshows on DVD. You can share your digital pictures on DVD with your friends and family with any home DVD player.

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

you can download PhotoDVD from vso official site here:

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/phot...

    # Support picture formats: JPG, GIF, BMP, ANI, PCX, EMF, WMF, and more...

    # Support native RAW format : Canon RAW .CR2, Nikon .NEF, .DNG, Minolta and more...

    # Supported audio formats for background music: MP3, WMA, OGG, MPC, WAV, APE

  9. This will depend on whether or not you have a player or a writer on your computer. It could also be that maybe you just have a cd writer and not a dvd writer.

    I'd try a cd-r disc.
