  1. No, An ENT md is an ear, nose, and throat doctor.  He may make the initial diagnosis or it may be a general practitioner that  may diagnose a thyroid condition or disease but an endocrinologist is the right doctor to see if you have a thyroid condition/disease that your GP or ENT doctor need you to consult if necessary.  Endocrinologists take care of the endocrine system (thyroid gland, pituitary gland, adrenal gland...etc.)

  2. A regular GP or if it's complicated an endocrinologist.

  3. Hi. Do some research, there are doctors that specialize in treating Thyroid disease. I just found out a month ago that i had Hypothyroidism, but it wasn't until i went to a Thyroid specialist because the other doctors i went to couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Endocrinologists are good also. All you need is a simple blood test to diagnose a Thyroid problem, but it helps when the doctor is knowledgeable about the disease. I was put on medication right away, and i'm doing 100% better already. Good Luck :-)

Does your doctor see him or herself as an expert whose advice should be unquestionably followed, or does your doctor work as a partner or teacher? Does your doctor view the role of a physician as teacher, or perhaps even as your "employee?" Is the doctor's allegiance to you -- the patient -- or to an HMO employer who signs the paycheck?

No relationship is necessarily good or bad. It depends on your personality, the nature of your illness, and the skills you bring to the relationship with your doctor.

Let's take a look at some of the different styles you may encounter in physicians, and what they mean for you.
