I can exercise this dog for 1 to 2 hours a day. I can buy him some agility course. I am very active. I am willing to play with him. I can buy him toys.

But the only problem is that I am going to school for 5 hours but i think i will just buy him a small tv so he could hear something while i am gone, so he wont be bored.

My top choices of dogs are Labrador Retriever, Siberian Husky, German Shepherd, Italian Greyhound, Jack Russell Terrier, beagle, Canaan dog and boxer

But if you have another kind of dog that you think will fit me just tell me and i will consider it.

  1. Labs are the best in my opinion. My sister would say beagle coz those are her fave.

  2. BORDER COLLIE! That is exactly what you need :D

    It fits everything.

  3. All your choices seem wonderful.

A lot of people are losing their homes now, and have given up their dogs.  You'll get the breed you want (or a mix of your top choices) and it's already past the puppy chewing stage and potty training stage (which are just TIME CONSUMING! LOL) from a shelter or a rescue for about half what a breeder would charge - and a lot of purebred dogs end up in kill shelters across the country.

Most adopted dogs adjust well, and there are a few puppies in every shelter regardless.  Read up on puppy personality, and the method for chosing the right dog for you (Monks of New Skete have great books out there at the libraries!).

If you have your heart set on a breed, be sure to check out breed specific rescues in your area - petfinder is fantastic for that!

Best of luck on your search, and my PERSONAL choice for you would be a Rhodesian Ridgeback (google it!)

  4. A big dog not a small one a American bulldog English Mastiff mix or a great dane they are big and nice dogs put it in a obedience school.

P.S. The smaller the dog the meaner so Get a big dog they are smart.

  5. i would recommend a golden retriever or german shepherd. my friends german shepherd is just simply amazing.

  6. I Had A Border Collie.

    They Are Great.

They Love Exercise && Will Bond With You Like A Shot.

    A Best Friend For Life.

  7. Siberian Husky (I have one), JRT, and Border Collies are all wonderful dogs, but they really like being with people and get bored easily. If you leave them alone for too long, they may get bored and get destructive.

I would go with one of the other breeds. Another one you may consider is the Labradoodle. They have awesome temperaments and are goofy and friendly to people and dogs. They are also active and fun. I have never met a mean labradoodle.

  8. if you can devote a lot of time to a dog... i would think you should get a golden retriever or a german shepard. they are both energetic and loyal. i have a golden retriever and he's the best dog ever. and my freind has a german shepard and he's great the only thing about german shepards is that they are hard to train. they are both really good w/ kids and other dogs. but i would seriously consider one of these dogs.

  9. Labrador Retriever, or a border collie are perfect. They are playful, fun, pretty, loving, loyal, and are low maintenance!!!

    Best of luck with choosing!!!

    Lucy.
