  1. doberman are Good for apartments yea really they are once u walk them anyway a doberman would be well better than a shih tzu or a small dog

  2. Yorkies are adorable, playful, and don't shed! They are also not too loud like chihuahua or pomeranian. Bull dogs are heart warming with their cute little rolls! If you are looking for a dog that doesn't run around alot than Bull Dogs are certainly what you are looking for. Though they are sweet but watch out as they have a tendency to drool!

  3. Its always good to have a dog that can kill other dogs/humans. As a women, you need protection from intruders. You need a pit-bull. The chihuahuas bark too many times and can disturb your neighbors next door.

  4. A Caviler King Charles Spaniel is a good dog for an apartment. If too girly, bulldogs are sweet to have.

  5. mixes are really great u get more than one kind, and there are lot's of them around who said u have to buy purebred but any dog would be fine i bet .but don't go to buy one at a pet store adopt ur new pal he'll really appreciate it that's wat i did with my puppy, go on and save a life :)

  6. a chow chow is a good size dog

    and very cute!!!!!  lol :)

  7. a Dachshund,English bulldog,Miniature Pincher  are good apartment dogs you'll want a breed that don't yip and bark a lot .One that won't rip the stuffing out of your couch or chew all your shoes while you away .

I'd like to add  no matter the breed you chose Please make sure to get it all of it's shots ! Parvo is the number one killer of puppies and if vaccinated they will be protected from it ! For the love of animals it is very important they get these shots nothing hurts worse then watching your dog die and it could have been prevented .

  8. any small or miniatured dogs. here are some... or many..

1.jack russsell terrier 2.maltease 3.chihuahua 4.rat terrier 5.schunauzer or miniature one 6.miniature or toy poodle 7.welsh corgi 8.king chalse terrier 9.west highland terrier 10.scottish terrier 11.lisa apso 12.cocker spaniel 13.miniature pincher 14.dachund (weiner dog) 15.bulldog 16.bosten terrier 17.french bulldog 18.pomeranian 19.japanese spitz                   a lot more... including small mix breed dogs..

  9. jack russells and cocker spaniels are absolutely insane.

whereas most dogs calm down when they get older, these don't.

    thats a quiz

apartment life dogs. they do best but take the quiz or choose one from here.

i would recomend the quiz though

    EDIT:

ask your lanlord if you can.

some dont allow them and some have a size limit.

    goodluck

  11. chihuahuas are great they require hardly little exercise they can get it in the house

  12. The best advice I have for you is to get a rescue.  Find a group that fosters so that they will be able to tell you the temperament of the dog.

  13. They're called "Jack Russell Terrorists" for a reason.  Great dogs, but VERY high energy.  They'll be difficult to handle in an apartment setting unless you're a jogger or cyclist or something like that.  Beagles are a type of hound.  They have a big bark for such a little dog, and many of them really like to use it!  If you're not able to train your dog to be quiet, you might be in for tough times with neighbors in such close quarters.

Check out the breed quiz at dogbreedinfo.com for some good ideas, and then spend some time checking out the breeds.  You'll be glad that you did.  Good luck!!

  14. Beagles will "bay", but other than that would be a good choice & Jack Russells are hyper. I would suggest a Maltese (if you don't mind the grooming they are the most docile dogs & make great apartment pets because they don't shed), Westies, Scotties, Yorkies are all good. I would advise against Manchester Terriers who are super-hyper (in my experience). Herding or working dogs need a lot of exercise & running room, so I think it's almost cruel to put them in a small space. You can go to akc.org & do the breed finder survey, which helps match your personality with breeds right for you or of course adopt from the local animal shelter; they really make the best pets!

  15. Any dog will be fine. Just keep in mind that finding an apartment when you own a dog will be difficult and more expensive.

  16. you should go to your local animal shelter or rescue or whatever and tell them your situation and they can/will match you up with a dog that's right for you

I wouldn't say a beagle for an apartment, though.. they tend to be barkers and they really need a fenced in yard because they tend to get loose and follow their noses and it often leads to trouble for them (hit by car)

  17. I am not sure Beagles and Jack Russel's would be good for an apartment, I would recommend one of the following small breeds that require minimal exercise.

    Yorkie

    Chihuahua

    Havanese

    Chinese Crested

    Italian Greyhound

    Toy Poodle

    Papillion

    Pug

    Corgi

    Maltese

  18. Any dog, any breed that is trained, fixed and well cared for can fill that bill.If you do not plan on taking this dog out for long walks then you should not have a dog.If you have included an exercise plan for a dog then any well cared for breed will work. If the only life you are going to offer a dog is the apartment then please get fish instead.Tilks Mom
