Something with a lot of forgiveness and a large sweet spot for off shots.

  1. go to a golf store with a hitting area and try a bunch of stuff out and choose what feels best

i think that people overlook the brands, the thing that matters is if it is the right length, shaft stiffness, and clubhead alignment for you

go to an employee and get yourself fitted

    it makes all the difference

    it did for me

  2. Taylormade Burner

  3. A 3 wood. :-P

All kidding aside, it really depends on what YOU like. A person can hit any club and generally get the same results (honestly, it doesn't vary much from club to club). For me a big issue though is how the club feels in my hands, feels when making contact and looks when I'm addressing the ball (nothing distracting).

The best thing for you to do is go to a store that will tape up drivers and allow you to hit some balls in the store (like Golf Galaxy or something). This will allow you to try whatever they have and find one that "feels" right for you.

In any case I would recommend a higher loft, 10 degrees or so given your handicap and also keep an eye on the shaft, more than likely you'll want a regular stiffness (unless you swing hard but tend to spray the ball all over).

  4. i think you should get an R7 or R5 it is great and maybe geta regular shaft

  5. The best answer get a talormade burner or another good club but for a high handicap get a loft of 10-12 degrees this will help you get the ball up a big sweet spot always helps also get your swing speed tested for the shaft flex this is verry important the shaft can give +50 to -50 yards to your shot

  6. You definitely want something that has less loft. This way even if you slice or hook it won't be as drastic. I use a 9* King Cobra with medium flex shaft. It definitely has a nice sized sweet spot and if I happen to slice or hook, I'm still reasonably close to the fairway.

  7. For a high handicap, carry a driver. To lower your handicap, don't carry a driver.
