    Best video quality comes from miniDV tape based camcorders. Your computer will need a firewire port.

    Next best comes from hard drive and flash memory camcorders. Your computer will need a USB port.

    DVD camcorders provide the worst available video quality and are a challenge to many users wanting to edit
