What kind of economy does Afghanistan have? Is it a command economy, capitalism, etc.?

  1. There's not much to figure out.  Much of Afghanistan is a subsistence economy based on agriculture.  There is some petty capitalism, but we're mostly talking about high-labor, low-capital industries like village ceramic production or carpet weaving.  Economic activity in Afghanistan is so limited that it is basically pointless to try to put this kind of label on it.  There certainly isn't enough capital for a command system like communism to function.


  2. Now it is a democratic government, previously before the war on terror, it was democratic republic, and then the peoples republic.

    The cash crop is heroin poppys.
