  1. I am the secretary for the social work department in a private university. You need a 4 year degree called a Bachelor in Social Work. This should be from a college that has certification with the Council on Social Work Education. This would give you advanced standing for getting a Masters in Social Work , which is what most employers want. There is also a state board test that allows you to qualify for a CSW or LCSW, licensed clinical social worker certification

  2. I think just high school but sometimes it requires you to like go to college for a certain certificate/degree...

  3. A degree in Sociology or Human Development and Family Science.

  4. take a civil service test.

  5. A Bachelor of Social Work(BSW) will get you into an entry level Children and Youth Job or an MH/MR job, such as a casemanager or caseworker. A Masters(MSW) will get you into a therapist position, possibly a Clinical Manager. BEWARE: these are not the highest paying positions. Nurses make alot more money, as do plumbers, computer Techs, most public school teachers.
